Launching the Oxted Dementia Friendly Community

It is Dementia Action Week 20-26 May and the Dementia Friendly Community in Oxted is now launched.

This Oxted community is supported by Surrey County Council, Tandridge District Council and other public and private partners.  Many shops and businesses in Oxted have already become Members, pledging to take action to make their premises welcoming and understanding to all customers.

During the week there will be information stands in the libraries in Oxted, Caterham Valley and Caterham Hill, publicity on social media channels, Dementia Action Week posters in member shop windows and an amazing opportunity for the public to experience living life as a person with aged muscles/cognition/sight/hearing by wearing an age simulation suit and visiting a mock-up living space at Surrey Hills Care Agency.
