We are delighted to announce the Tandridge Together Community Fund has awarded over £20,000, in grants of up to £2,000 to local organisations to help fund initiatives, which will directly benefit the health and wellbeing of residents.
The fund invited local organisations, which operate in the Tandridge district, to apply for small grants at the end of last year. Many charities, organisations and local good causes which applied have been essential lifelines for residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, even when their own funds have been depleted due to many fundraising events being cancelled.
Representatives from the Tandridge Health and Wellbeing Board met in January to learn about all the amazing initiatives carried out by our local voluntary and community organisations and to award the grants. The selection process was difficult with 44 applications submitted and the Board was pleased to be able to award grants to 16 local organisations.
These grants will help a wide range of projects from supporting carers, helping young adults with disabilities, working with vulnerable children and students at local schools, befriending services for older people, offering people with financial concerns access to confidential advice as well as improving the physical and mental health of residents by contributing towards a variety of clubs and activities.
