The Clockwork Charitable Trust is a registered charity based in Oxted, Surrey, which offers support and information to young adults in Oxted and the surrounding district suffering with depression and anxiety, with the aim of helping relieve this suffering.
The idea for Clockwork was born out of tragic circumstances. In June 2016, seventeen-year-old Billy Plowman, of Oxted, decided to end his own life. Just a year prior nineteen-year-old Molly Green, also of Oxted, had made the same choice. Both were extremely talented young adults, so loved by friends and family and so admired by those who knew them. And yet, both felt they could not go on living.
Matt Hayes, owner of Idol Hands Music School (where Billy, an excellent guitarist, had developed his talent), felt more needed to be done to support young people in the local community, like Billy and Molly, suffering with depression. And so, Clockwork was born.
