If you’re after an authentic Spanish food and wine experience in a relaxed and casual setting, then you’ll love Pan Y Vino on Oxted’s Station Road E.
This fabulous modern Spanish restaurant / bar has quickly become a local favourite, serving amazing tapas and great wines, with an authentic feel and easygoing service. You won’t be hurried over your food here! Typically Spanish, you just rock up, unless you’re more than six, in which case book in person or via instagram.
Originally from Galicia in the north of Spain, Sergio Leston, founder of Pan & Vino, grew up helping his grandad on his farm, cultivating crops and farm animals, which is what he believes gives him a true understanding of the process of taking produce from land to the table.
Sergio came over to England when he was 16, initially working in tapas restaurants until one day, he finally realised his dream and opened his first one.
“Food is my passion”, says Sergio, “I think good food is one of the greatest pleasures in life and I love being able to share that quality others.”
The thought behind Pan and Vino was essentially to bring back casual drinking and dining; good old-fashioned getting a drink and enjoying authentic Spanish tapas (with a few twists).
Of course Sergio loves every dish and wine on his menu, because he personally selects each one and if he didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be on the menu…! But, but if you were to twist his arm, he’d tell you to try the Argentinian prawns and the Secreto Ibérico.
All the wines he serves in Pan and Vino are great wines, but his favourite is the house red, López de Haro… which s why it’s the house wine!
Just walk in / turn up or book if over 6 people. There’s indoor and outdoor seating for al fresco dining and drinking when it’s warm.
