Our Procession / Switch-on, Market and Outdoor rid

Our Procession / Switch-on, Market and Outdoor rides may be cancelled due to Storm BERT, but there are still plenty of reasons to come into OXTED!

The Christmas lights have been installed and will be on, so the town is looking festive and sparkly.
The Christmas Windows are looking amazing. Have a look around and decide which one you will vote for in the competition - link in bio.

All our wonderful cafes, bars, restaurants and shops will be OPEN as usual with festive food, drink and gift ideas for all the family.

Indoor activities and specials include (but not limited to!):

Station Road East:
Mulled Wine, festive hot dogs and mince pies at Hammond’s
Face Painting at Robert Leech with Honey Bee 2-4.30PM
Elf on the Shelf Crafternoon at Oxted Library, plus Limpsfield Chart in History book stall and Walter & Nancy Jewellery
Mrs Claus will be reading a story, with letter to Santa and treats in the Junior Library at 3.30PM
Then Pop your letters in Santa’s Mailbox at Barnardo’s

Station Road West:
Festive hot chocolates at Cafe Papillon
10% off any purchase at “Mint in the Vault” (IG Equine, Station Road West)
20% off all Christmas Decorations at Job’s of Oxted
Glass of Bubbly for customers at Jules Boutique!
Santa’s Grotto at Morr & Co on Station Road West (by Cattle & Cocktail), 2-5pm
There’s Christmas crafts & paper chain making at Oxted Desserts & Crafts on Station Road West

Festive Street Entertainers will popping in and out of the shops and businesses to entertain customers while avoiding the rain and wind!

AND.....THE LIVING SNOW GLOBE IS ON - nothing stops this magical snow princess and she’ll be down near Paul James Jewellers / Lorimers during the afternoon, with a show every hour between 2-5pm as long as it’s safe for her to do so!

NB: THE ROAD WILL NOT BE CLOSED AND NO PARKING SUSPENSION IN PLACE

Change of Plans: CHRISTMAS EVENT - LIGHT SWITCH-ON, PROCESSION AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITY CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

�Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, we (and many other towns) are sadly having cancel planned Christmas activities for this weekend - at least the outdoor ones…

The forecast of heavy rain and wind, with gusts of up to 50mph, sadly means that gazebos (for the market and entertainment/music), however sturdy and well-weighted, are just too dangerous for both stallholders and general public.

The horse and carriage cannot run (and it would be a very wet ride!); our gliding fairies and jugglers would also take off in high gusts of wind... and the snow globe and ride are not safe to operate.

This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. And we can assure you, no-one is more disappointed than we are.

We will endeavour to reschedule the entertainment and music we had planned, so that they take place on Saturday afternoons in the run up to Christmas, depending on availability of the entertainers.

�The Good News

🎅Santa's Grotto will still run at Morr & Co on Station Road West 2-5PM
Christmas Crafter noon - Elf on the Shelf - at The Library is still on 2.30-4PM £1.
🦋There will be Free Festive Face Painting in Robert Leech from 2-4.30PM with Honey Bee
🤶Mrs Claus, Elf and Nutcracker will be doing meet, greet, gifts and treats - venue & time TBC - keep an eye on our website and social media @loveoxted

There will also be a Christmas Windows Competition in December for all our amazing businesses - Voting will be via an online form - links will be on our website and social media. Plus poster with QR Code.

We also hope to do a Christmas Trail - more info to follow...
