Hello! Can you believe it’s August already? Finally it looks like the weather may be improving, so it’s time to enjoy the summer in Oxted and make use of our lovely open spaces and the fabulous al fresco dining and drinking spaces we now have in the town!
August is usually a very quiet time on our high streets, so here are some dates and ideas on how you can support Oxted and its businesses as much as possible this month.

- 1st August (and every first Tuesday) Quiz Night at Hammond’s
- 4th August – Cycle to Work Day – on your bike Oxted! Let’s make Oxted a cleaner, healthier, less congested town centre!
- 10th August – TASKMASTER at The Ginistry
- 12th August – Guest Stalls including @ArtistSusieWest, @thebakerkent, @walterandnancyjewellery
- 12th August – BLUEY at Playtown Oxted – 1pm.
- 13th August – Prosecco Day – Enjoy a Prosecco in one of our lovely bars!
- 13th August – Vintage Buses in Oxted and Limpsfield 10am-5pm
- 14th August – Oxted Sessions – Chris Cacavas at The Ginistry
- 17th August – National Cupcake Day – celebrate A’LEVEL RESULTS DAY with a cupcake at one of our cafés / bakeries!
- 17th August – Buckle & Boots Country Music at The Ginistry 8PM
- 19th August – World Humanitarian Day – shop in one of our brilliant charity shops or sign up as a volunteer. They are all in need of help.
- 19th August – World Photography Day – send us your photos of OXTED! We’ll happily share your (appropriate!) Oxted photos if you tag @loveoxted and any businesses featured in them. £20 to spend in Oxted businesses for 5 winners. (see separate post)
- 20th August – Oxted Boot Fair, Master Park organised by Titsey Rotary. See what gems you can find.
- 24th August – National Burger Day – no excuse needed BUT how about celebrating GCSE RESULTS DAY with a quality burger from one of our fabulous restaurants and takeaways!
- 26th August – National Dog Day! Most Oxted cafés are #dogfriendly so bring in your pooch for a treat!
- Every FRIDAY – Oxted Country Market at The Woodhouse Centre 9.30-11.30AM
A big Oxted welcome to Bespoke Floors Ltd. This family-run business has been going for 50 years with a long-standing shop in Beckenham, and has now opened a new branch in the shop previously occupied by Oxted Floor Designs.
Finally a huge GOOD LUCK to all Oxted students awaiting the results of their GCSEs, BTECs, A/S and A’LEVELS. We have everything crossed for you.
Don’t forget, you can park for FREE after 6pm and ALL WEEKEND in the Ellice Road and Tandridge District Council carparks.
