Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting for on-call firefighters at all 10 on-call fire stations (including Oxted) around the county!
Do you live or work near an on-call fire station? You could be a firefighter…
Working as a firefighter in an on-call capacity requires dedicated people who give above and beyond their normal workday to protect their local community. You may have other commitments or full-time employment outside of the fire service but are able respond to emergency calls within your local area as and when required from work or home.
You can earn between £11.51 – £17.14 per hour depending on the role, you will help with a range of emergency incidents and undertake regular training. Be there for your community by delivering community fire safety visits to schools, youth clubs and other organisations.
You must be able respond within 4 to 7 minutes of a pager call (station dependant), on foot or by vehicle at normal road speeds to your local on-call fire station and you must be able to attend one training evening a week.
If you want to make a difference in your community, are fit and healthy and perhaps have always secretly fancied yourself in uniform (who doesn’t love a firefighter?) then what are you waiting for?!
Find out more information by visiting surreycc.gov.uk/oncall or pop into your local fire station on their drill night and speak to the crew!
You can find information about station drill nights on their website too.
