A celebration of all that is great about the county, Surrey Day returns on Saturday, May 11th for a sixth year, bringing together the county’s towns, villages and attractions in recognition of our fantastic corner of England. Find out what we’re up to in Oxted…
The free community initiative, which is spearheaded by Visit Surrey, the county’s official tourist board, alongside its partners BBC Surrey and Surrey Lieutenancy, is a much-anticipated celebration that sees people of all ages come together.
This year, there’s a high-flying theme, “Surrey From The Sky” and Surrey Day hopes to take a fresh look at our county, gazing down on its glorious landscape, raising our eyes to the skies…
What’s Happening in OXTED
We’d love you to celebrate Surrey Day by coming into your local town, supporting your local high streets, shops and businesses by shopping, eating and drinking local, whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch or a quick coffee and browsing the shops…
We’re going to be putting on some special entertainment on the day too and setting up a bit of a party atmosphere.
Initial plans include:
SURREY DAY – 11 MAY 2024
11-11.15AM – WAVE TO THE SKY – Local drone pilot and photographer, Matt Cuzen will be passing over Oxted with a drone to capture the town on Surrey Day!!
11.15AM to 3PM – live music: The Oxted Band, Oxted Musical Theatre Company, Moonshine & Molly,
11AM-2PM – FREE face painting from Oxted’s Honey Bee Face Painting at Dessert Spot
2-3PM – Super Hero Surrey Day with Character Parties with Bee meet and greet with superheroes and craft (outside BOOTS)
3pm – Superman Dance lesson with Kerry Payne (Outside Paydens)
We will also be publishing some amazing aerial photos and video footage on our website and socials from Britain from Above and contemporary local photographers and drone pilots, including Nada Khalaf-Jones, Matt Cuzen, Darren Giles and Hudds Photos.
