Inches of Oxted has a new owner

Inches of Oxted, the long-standing beauty salon on Oxted’s Station Road West has a brand new owner, Kate Thompson.

Kate who lives in Warlingham and has various children at Oxted School (she has 6, yes SIX in total!), originally worked as an estate agent for many years before having her kids. She has subsequently kept herself more than busy with her children, farm and horses, and after her daughter was born, trained as a beauty therapist, working for herself, primarily from home.

Ready for another challenge, Kate started looking around for a business opportunity last year.

“I’d been looking around for a business to invest in for some time,” said Kate, who is clearly not one to put her feet up! “I’d seen various potential opportunities, but when Inches came up for sale I knew that was it. I love Oxted and spend a lot of time here as my older kids have all gone through Oxted school, and we have lots of friends in Oxted, so this was just the perfect business for me to invest in and develop to make it my own.”

Inches is well known in Oxted for its variety of beauty treatments (nails, massages, spray tanning, facials, hair removal and much more besides) and as the local Clarins stockist.

Kate aims to give the salon a bit of a makeover, inject some new energy and offer more after-work appointment times and customer events.

It’s brilliant seeing so many new and proactive businesses coming into the town, and especially on Station Road West, and we look forward to seeing how Inches and its “West Side” neighbours continue to develop and grow over the coming year.

We wish Kate every success in her new project.

Inches is a great place to find the perfect Mother’s Day present, if you’re in need of inspiration!
