Love Oxted’s Easter Trails attracted hundreds of children into the town during the school holidays. Youngsters enjoyed hunting through shops and businesses to find Easter-themed clues, and were rewarded with chocolate treats along the way.
Six-year-old Annabel Luscombe, a pupil at Downs Way school, won the star prize for finding clues along the Easter Bunny Trail (Station Road East). She took part in the trail with her friends and her mum, Lucy said: “This was a brilliant idea and Annabel thought the trail was awesome.”
The winner of the Easter Chick Trail (Station Road East) was nine-year-old Jake Mafabi, from Haywards Heath. Both children won a £25 voucher to spend in Lorimers Toy Box.
“It was wonderful to see so many children taking part in the trails and we have had amazing feedback from families and businesses in Oxted,” said Sue McGeown, manager of Love Oxted. “This initiative is a great way for people to get to know their way around Oxted, have fun in the town, and to become more familiar with the wonderful shops and facilities we have here.”
The free school holiday activity was organised by Oxted BID – known as Love Oxted – a collective of around 200 town centre businesses working together to make Oxted a better place to shop, work and spend time.
