What’s on in Oxted this Christmas

There’s SO much going on! We are very lucky to live in a great little town with an amazing community and this year we have two main Christmas events in Oxted, as well as other events and activities to keep you in the festive mood in the weekends leading up to Christmas.

Thursday 23rd November – LATE NIGHT SHOPPING & LIGHTS

On 23rd November, join BBC’s Mark Carter, all your favourite festive characters, street entertainers and more for Late Night Shopping and Christmas Lighting-Up Ceremony.

We will start at 5pm with a Candlelight procession from Cattle & Cocktail, with Mark Carter, Santa Claus, Mrs Claus & a naughty elf together with Mary Poppins and carol singers. Please come along with the kids. Children will be given battery operated candles to carry (while stocks last!) or bring your own. The procession will walk up Station Road West, lighting the street as we go, then through the tunnel and down through Station Road East for the official switch on.

Station Road West:

  • Santa’s grotto at Morr & Co – with Meet & Greet from 6-7pm
  • Snow Globe Photo Dome
  • Street entertainers and characters

Station Road East:

  • Free face painting at Starbucks with Honey Bee Face Painting
  • Street food – visiting and permanent Oxted businesses
  • Living snow globe – hugely popular last year and back again!
  • Bungee trampolines by The Fun Firm by the station
  • Street entertainers – Ice Men Jugglers & Polar Bear

Saturday 2nd December, 11am-3pm – CHRISTMAS MARKET & SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Celebrate Christmas, get your shopping done and support local small business with our Christmas Market on Station Road West. There will be lots of lovely mix Market stalls selling gifts, jewellery, artisan, eco socks, cupcakes and bakes, hampers etc PLUS, hot street food.

  • There will be lots of lovely mix of gift market stalls on Station Road West and in some of the shops – gifts, jewellery, artisan, eco socks, cupcakes and bakes, hampers etc…
  • PLUS, hot street food
  • Tinsel and Bauble the naughty elves at Play Town for fun decorating Christmas baubles with crafts, glitter, stickers and their own festive drawing under supervision of the elves. Oxted 9.30AM session (elves arriving at 10), Free hot drink for the parents too Book direct with playtown
  • Face Painting at Dessert Spot
  • Titsey Rotary Sleigh 11.15-11.30am
  • Christmas Wine Tasting at The Secret Cellar (Station Road East), 11-4pm.
  • We will also have performances by The Oxted Band 12.00pm on Station Road West (outside IG Equine) and 13.00 on Station Road East (Outside BOOTS) and
  • Festive songs by Bee of Character Parties by Bee – 11am on Station Road East and 1.30pm on Station Road West, followed by Country Christmas songs with Georgie Sinclair

Other Activities

  • Christmas Memory Tree at Sew Perfect / Stag Barbers from 23rd November. We invite you to dress the tree with your own bauble or bow in memory of someone special.
  • Letters to Santa Mailbox – has now been delivered (a little early!) to Jules Boutique, then on to Barnardo’s, The Post Office. Updates on the Mailbox locations will be posted on @loveoxted each week. 
  • Vote for your favourite Christmas Window! Voting opens on Thursday 23rd November at 5pm and runs until 30th November at 5pm.  The link will be published on our website and social media @loveoxted.  VOTE HERE: https://forms.gle/czHEAsaHyUif9Anb6
  • Sing it Out singers belt out some festive tunes outside Boots! Sunday 3rd December, 11am:
  • Christmas Crafternoons at Oxted Library on the first 3 Saturdays of December (2nd/9th/16th). Perfect for age 5+ and only £1 per child. Just drop in between 2.30pm & 4pm. No need to book.
  • Jinglebell Village at Master Park – 16&17th December – SANTA’S GROTTO & REINDEER – Tickets for the grotto must be pre-booked HERE (please note this is an independent event organised by Bella Luna via Master Park).  
  • Titsey Rotary Santa & his Sleigh at Morrisons -18th-22nd December. 
  • THE (VICTORIAN) CAROLLERS will be around town on Saturday 23rd December at 11am.
